In 2009 Adam represented the East Antrim Institute and secured two Ulster titles at the Ulster Schools' T&F Championships, achieving distances of 7.08m in the Long Jump and 13.56m in the Triple Jump. He then went on to win the Irish Schools' Long Jump title with a jump of 7.06m.
