Rory Friel

Ulster schools athletics is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former chairman and current executive member Rory Friel.

Rory’s contribution to schools athletics in Ulster and Ireland spans several decades and from passionately promoting the sport in each school he worked in to serving on the board of the SIAB, Rory brought a deep love for, and knowledge of athletics to every role he undertook.

His commitment, expertise and experience will be immensely missed by everyone in schools athletics but most of all he will be missed by his loving family to whom we extend our sincere condolences at this difficult time. May Rory rest in peace.
